I’ve been at Depth for about 7 years and I play hockey for the Columbus Blue Jackets. I began training at Depth, because I wanted to develop more strength and stability, especially in my hips and core. Thanks to the work with Depth, I can go into each season and each game knowing that my body is prepared and in the best shape to play, which allows me to just focus on playing. My hip strength, and lower body strength has improved immensely which has given me more stability in the net. The conditioning and overall structure of the off-season allows me to feel at a high level physically throughout the hockey season. The attention to detail is so high at Depth. Every coach is focused on each detail of the training which is so important and helps to make sure the quality is high. If you are looking to develop physically for your sport in any way, the team at Depth has great experience and knowledge to guide and assist you in that process.
I trained with Depth for 4 years. I play hockey in the PWHL and for Team Canada. Before training at Depth I had the idea that I would have to sacrifice speed in order to get stronger. Now, I take a more holistic approach to training. Maintaining speed is also always at the forefront of my training while getting stronger. The collaboration between physio and trainer during my time at Depth has helped me understand how much rehab/mobility and strength are all important pieces to the puzzle.
The environment at Depth is fun, intense, and curated to you. I felt supported on all fronts (communication, physio, massage, training, even on ice opportunities in the summer too). Depth provides athletes with the environment to reach the next step. Depth pushes you, supports you, highlights areas that need improvement and confronts those areas with attention to detail. Depth feels like a family.

As an NHL defenceman my training and performance needs are highly specific and our offseason is very short, so I don’t have a lot of time to waste. Brooksy and Neil design my off-Ice training specific to me and focused on my needs as a hockey player. My goal in the summer is to have maximum positive impact on my sport performance with no wasted efforts. This helps maintain my health and energy levels during the long hockey season as much as possible. I know my training is purposeful with the primary objective of making me better at my job – and at the end of the day that is what matters most to me.
I have been training at Depth for 14 years and I play professional hockey. Before training at Depth, I wanted to improve on overall strength and speed. I know that going into every season I have been given the best program tailored to my needs and trust the process that the trainers at Depth have each summer. Going into training camp last season I had signed with a new team. This meant a completely blank slate and a fresh start to demonstrate who I am as a player on and off the ice. I went in with full confidence in the off-season training and preparation I had done, and it led me to have my first full stint in the NHL.
The people in the gym are what makes Depth stand out from anywhere else I have been to or heard about. The trainers are always willing to tailor to specific needs whether it is an injury that is lingering or something each individual needs to improve on. The trainers and the other athletes in the gym also create a very competitive environment, ensuring we are pushing each other to the full potential each day.
The experience each day is second to none. The athletes who come in each day genuinely enjoy being pushed to be the best version of themselves. There is not a better spot to train towards your goals in my opinion.
As an OUA women’s hockey goalie, I understand the level of precision, resilience and effort my position demands. This coming summer will be my third offseason training at Depth, and it has become a critical part of my development every offseason. When I first started I wanted to elevate my game, not just get stronger but get stronger in ways that directly translate to my performance and position. The biggest difference has been the individualized programming. Everything is intentional and tailored to me specifically as a goalie and athlete. Depth has allowed me to grow as an athlete and in my position. I feel more powerful in my pushes, controlled in net and confident in games. I recover faster, stay sharp later in games and trust my body to be able to perform under the high demands of OUA hockey. The coaching at Depth truly sets the standard and is what really sets it apart. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, detail oriented and fully invested in every athletes growth. The Depth environment is competitive, focused and built around developing each athlete to reach their potential and reach a higher standard everyday.
I’ve been training at Depth since 2018—starting with team sessions and then doing individual training for about 7 years. I play soccer at the University of Maine. Before training at Depth, I struggled with being smaller than many opponents, so I wanted to get stronger and faster while also building strength to reduce my risk of injuries that are common in female athletes. What feels most different now is that I’m much more confident physically because I know I’m stronger, faster, and better prepared to compete.
A specific way training has helped my game is by improving my strength and speed, which helps me win more physical battles and move more explosively on the field. One thing that stands out is how supportive and personalized the coaching environment is, which really pushes you to improve while still making training enjoyable.
I’d tell any athlete who’s unsure that training here truly helps you become stronger, more confident, and better prepared to perform in your sport.
