WHAT IS ATHLETIC THERAPY?

Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. The first to respond when someone gets hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic.

Athletic Therapists adhere to the sports medicine model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing or taping. The treatment varies, but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist’s goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports, or walking to the mailbox and back.

I had loss both strength and range of motion due to surgery. I was skeptical if any improvement could be realized but Justin proved me wrong. In only 5 sessions, the strength and range of motion are equal or greater than non-injured side. I'm not going pro in any sport but it sure feels good to tackle some of those previously shelved goals and to daily activities pain free.

I received Physiotherapy treatment for two issues with Andrew from Depth, and the service was the best I’ve ever received (seen multiple PT’s over the years). At the assessment they go over everything I great detail and then lay out the plan for the path forward. I found this was a nice touch so I knew how I should be progressing. I wasn’t overloaded with home workouts but simply a few easy things that would help with my issues. I can say that I was given the tools to continue to feel good without having to continue going for treatment long term. Top to bottom the service they provide is great, from online booking to great customer service from their front desk! I would highly recommend Depth Training and more specifically Andrew!

My 13 year old son Liam had a concussion and we took him to see Jared @ Depth. I have to say I was very impressed with his level of care, professionalism and communication. With Covid making it difficult for me to be there, Jared would send me a video post session talking about his findings and progress. Under Jared's direction we took our time with Return to Hockey protocols and Liam was back to his normal self in just under a month. Strongly recommend asking for Jared if you have an young athlete experience a concussion. We also send our older son to Jared for rehab stints. Thx Jared and Depth!
